Travel Support

The IUGC 2026 is pleased to partner with Blue Capacity to provide travel support grants for students and early-career researchers (defined as a researcher who has held a PhD or equivalent qualification for a period less than or equal to five years at the time of their application) wishing to attend the conference.

Through this partnership, a limited number of grants will be available to help reduce financial barriers and enable emerging researchers to participate, present their work, and engage with the global underwater glider community. This initiative aims to foster professional development, strengthen international collaboration, and support the next generation of scientists contributing to underwater glider research.

Grants will support eligible students and early-career researchers with flights, accommodation, and conference registration costs. To help extend this opportunity to as many researchers as possible, applicants are encouraged to consider their funding needs carefully when applying.

Students and early-career researchers are invited to submit original work aligned with the conference themes via the button below. The abstract submission deadline is Friday 26 June 2026. All submissions will be reviewed by the conference Scientific Committee and the Blue Capacity team, with successful applicants notified by Monday 13 July 2026.
